Job summary

Regional School District 13 is seeking a Behavior Technician to support students with challenging behavior across district sites. Under BCBA supervision, you will help implement intervention plans and collect data to monitor progress.

Evidence of BACB RBT/BCaBA certification is required or in progress; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. The role requires strong communication and collaboration with staff and families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with delivering behavior analysis services under the direction of the BCBA
  • Implement programs and behavior intervention plans
  • Collect and record data on student behavior and progress
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with staff about student plans
  • Follow BACB ethics and maintain confidentiality
  • Collaborate with teachers, paraeducators, administrators and parents
  • Participate in PPT meetings and school team discussions
  • Willing to work with students from pre-school through 12th grade
  • Willing to work with students with toileting and feeding needs

Qualifications
  • Maintain Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, not required
  • PMT Certification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Description of Basic Responsibilities: The Behavior Technician, under the direct supervision of the Behavior Analyst assists in the development and implementation of behavior intervention programs for students with challenging behavioral needs at various sites throughout the district, monitors and collects data on behavior, documents progress and collaborates with school staff to coach and implement behavior interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction of the BCBA
  • Implement programs and behavior intervention plans provided by a special education teacher/BCBA/School Psychologist
  • Collect and record data regarding student behavior including progress notes
  • Maintain accurate records of student dataCommunicate with school staff regarding student plans
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with staff, students, and parents
  • Assist special education teacher/BCBA with providing discrete trial instruction
  • Collaborate with all team members including teachers, paraeducators, administrators, related service providers, and parents
  • Follow RBT ethics codes as required by the BACB
  • Immediately reports to special education teacher or BCBA any student incidents or complaints
  • Perform other responsibilities as designated by the Director of Pupil Services and supervisory BCBA in accordance with the BACB's published task list
  • Maintains Safety Care training
  • Participates in team meetings including Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings, as requested
  • Willing to work with students from pre-school through 12th grade
  • Willing to work with students with toileting and feeding needs
Compensation

Starting rate is $24.91 with RBT Certification (the District will pay for the certification if candidate is otherwise qualified). Benefits included.
