Job summary

InBloom Autism Services is seeking Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to deliver one-on-one ABA therapy at our learning centers and client sites. You will implement treatment plans designed by BCBAs/BCaBAs, collect data, and collaborate with supervising clinicians to monitor progress.

Role requires strong communication, ability to travel up to 25% to assigned centers, and dedication to confidentiality and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Direct ABA experience or experience working with children.
  • BACB RBT certification preferred or eligibility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills expected.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Client Care: provide one-on-one therapy in Centers, homes, or schools.
  • Follow BCBAs' Behavior Intervention Plans to meet client goals.
  • Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors during sessions.
  • Track progress with supervising BCBAs and adjust plans as needed.
  • Use approved behavior reduction techniques per intervention plan.
  • Help clients develop functional skills and appropriate social behaviors.
  • Provide training to parents/caregivers on intervention strategies.
  • Maintain professionalism and client confidentiality at all times.
  • Complete paperwork, progress reports, and session notes.
  • Maintain open communication with BCBAs, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Client Care: Provide one-on-one therapy to clients in various settings including our Centers, homes and/or schools.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Follow the behavior intervention plans designed by BCBAs to address specific behavioral goals and objectives for each client.
  • Data Collection: Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors and responses during therapy sessions, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Progress Monitoring: Collaborate with the supervising BCBAs to track and report client progress towards behavioral goals and adjust intervention plans as needed.
  • Behavior Reduction Techniques: Utilize approved behavior reduction techniques and strategies as outlined in the behavior intervention plan to address challenging behaviors.
  • Skill Acquisition: Assist clients in acquiring and developing functional skills, communication abilities, and appropriate social behaviors.
  • Parent/Caregiver Training: Provide training and support to parents/caregivers on implementing behavior intervention techniques and strategies in the home environment.
  • Professionalism: Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in behavior analysis while maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Documentation: Complete required paperwork, progress reports, and session notes.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with the BCBAs, parents/caregivers, and other team members involved in the client's treatment.
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with children and helping others.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must meet all BACB eligibility requirements to obtain RBT certification.
  • Ability to pass the required RBT certification exam within the training period.
  • Must obtain and maintain required RBT certification through the BACB.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

Skills for Success as an RBT:
  • Direct ABA experience (preferred) or experience working with children
  • BACB Registered Behavior Technician Certificate (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or currently enrolled in college or university
  • Must be able to effectively receive and communicate detailed information, both oral and written
  • Have reliable transportation, driver's license, car insurance, and a smartphone
  • Excellent time management, punctuality, and readiness to work! Absenteeism is not possible with our population of children, so consistent attendance is critical.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to take direction from senior staff members, and ability to accept feedback

Physical Requirements
  • Physical capacity to move quickly and respond to potentially aggressive behavior and
  • de-escalate situations with clients.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, running and/or
  • sitting in order to interact with clients.
  • Must be able to move and lift up to 50 pounds to assist with client positioning or mobility.
  • Adequate vision and hearing are needed to work with clients and staff.
Travel Required

Up to 25% travel to assigned local Centers that InBloom currently provides services in, or will be providing services in, in the future.
