Job summary

InBloom Autism Services in Connecticut seeks Behavior Therapists and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join a diverse team delivering one-on-one therapy and data-driven care. You will work alongside BCBAs to implement top-tier programs, collect data, and support clients in centers, homes, and schools.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and be willing to pursue RBT certification. Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills are essential.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must meet BACB eligibility to obtain RBT certification.
  • Pass the required RBT certification exam within the training period.
  • Must obtain and maintain required RBT certification through the BACB.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Client Care: Provide one-on-one therapy to clients in centers, homes, or schools.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) designed by BCBAs to address goals.
  • Data Collection: Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors and responses.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track client progress with supervising BCBAs and adjust plans.
  • Behavior Reduction Techniques: Apply approved strategies from BIPs.
  • Skill Acquisition: Help clients develop functional skills and communication.
  • Parent/Caregiver Training: Coach families on techniques for home use.
  • Professionalism: Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality.
  • Documentation: Complete paperwork, progress reports, and session notes.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines with BCBAs, families, and team members.

Responsibilities
  • Direct Client Care: Provide one-on-one therapy to clients in various settings including our Centers, homes and/or schools.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Follow the behavior intervention plans designed by BCBAs to address specific behavioral goals and objectives for each client.
  • Data Collection: Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors and responses during therapy sessions, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Progress Monitoring: Collaborate with the supervising BCBAs to track and report client progress towards behavioral goals and adjust intervention plans as needed.
  • Behavior Reduction Techniques: Utilize approved behavior reduction techniques and strategies as outlined in the behavior intervention plan to address challenging behaviors.
  • Skill Acquisition: Assist clients in acquiring and developing functional skills, communication abilities, and appropriate social behaviors.
  • Parent/Caregiver Training: Provide training and support to parents/caregivers on implementing behavior intervention techniques and strategies in the home environment.
  • Professionalism: Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in behavior analysis while maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Documentation: Complete required paperwork, progress reports, and session notes.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with the BCBAs, parents/caregivers, and other team members involved in the client's treatment.
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with children and helping others.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must meet all BACB eligibility requirements to obtain RBT certification.
  • Ability to pass the required RBT certification exam within the training period.
  • Must obtain and maintain required RBT certification through the BACB.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical capacity to move quickly and respond to potentially aggressive behavior and
  • de-escalate situations with clients.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, running and/or
  • sitting in order to interact with clients.
  • Must be able to move and lift up to 50 pounds to assist with client positioning or mobility.
  • Adequate vision and hearing are needed to work with clients and staff.
  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate office equipment and other
  • necessary tools.
