Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Behavior Technician to provide one-on-one support in home-based or community-based settings, helping children and adults build skills for independence, communication, and connection.

You will work alongside Board Certified Behavior Analysts, following behavior-change plans and documenting progress, while creating encouraging, structured interactions during every session.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a genuine passion for working with individuals with special needs.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Either completed college coursework in psychology/related fields or at least one year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Work one-to-one with children and/or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder or similar needs.
• Help individuals build social and communication skills.
• Support families by addressing repetitive or restrictive behaviors.
• Follow behavior-change plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
• Collect and document progress, milestones, and session information accurately.
• Create encouraging, structured interactions during every session.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• Passion for working with individuals with special needs
• Strong communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Either:
• Completed college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, or human development; or
• At least one year of experience working with children as a Child Development professional, Camp Counselor, Paraprofessional, Behavioral Interventionist, ABA Therapist, or Behavior Technician
