Job summary

The Hamilton County Educational Service Center has a full-time opening for a Registered Behavior Technician for the 2026-2027 school year. The RBT assists the Board Certified Behavior Analyst with student care and behavior support in classroom settings, modeling appropriate behaviors and supporting teachers.

Required are a High School diploma or GED, a valid RBT certification, CPI training, 1-2 years of related experience, and reliable transportation. Pre-employment checks are mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist, monitor, and guide students to complete tasks and develop life skills.
  • Promote a safe learning environment and support classroom staff.

The Hamilton County Educational Service Centerhas a full-time opening for the position ofRegistered Behavior Technician for the 2026-2027 school year.
Position Description:

The Registered Behavior Technician helps the Board Certified Behavior Analyst with providing student care and support. They help document and observe students who need additional support in their education and assist teachers by modeling appropriate behaviors to demonstrate how to work with students that may benefit from additional support.
Qualifications:

Employment in this position is contingent upon compliance with applicable pre-employment requirements, including the satisfactory completion of required criminal records checks and fingerprinting in accordance with Ohio Revised Code � 3319.39 and other applicable laws and HCESC policies.

Required

  • Education:High School diploma or GED required.
  • Certificates, Certifications, or Other Training:ValidRegistered Behavior Technician certification, Crisis Prevention Institute training
  • Previous Work-Related Experience:1-2 years
  • Previous Supervisory Experience:None
  • Access to reliable transportation to fulfill job duties

Essential Functions:

Student Support

  • Interact with students according to their Individual Behavior Intervention Plan, Individual Educational Program (IEP), or Section 504 Accommodation Plan.
  • Observe student behavior and intervene as needed to redirect inappropriate behavior.
  • Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans and educational programs.
  • Implement skill acquisition teaching procedures, such as discrete trial teaching and task analyzed chaining procedures.
  • Implement contingencies of reinforcement, discrimination training, stimulus control transfer procedures, stimulus fading procedures, and prompt and prompt fading procedures.
  • Assist, monitor, and guide students to complete tasks or to achieve adaptive, functional, and life skills.
  • Promote a safe learning environment

Data Reporting, Collection & Analysis

  • Collect and record qualitative data by observing students in classroom settings.
  • Summarize recorded data to update and improve students' behavior intervention plans and educational programs.
