Qualifications

  • DPH certification in food service inspection.
  • Registered Sanitarian license issued by CT DPH; Phase I & II subsurface sewage certification (preferred for IE).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health inspections and environmental health field work, including food establishments, cosmetology inspections, and temporary food events.
  • Oversee subsurface sewage disposal and provide enforcement of health codes with education-focused approach.

Overview

We are currently recruiting to fill one vacancy with either a Registered Sanitarian OR Environmental Health Inspector to conduct health inspections, and other environmental health field work. This full-time position will be responsible for performing work in the area of environmental health; including, food establishment inspections, cosmetology inspections, and temporary food event inspections, and subsurface sewage disposal oversight. This position reports directly to the Chief Sanitarian.
