Job summary

Cypress Pointe Health & Wellness in Houston, TX seeks a licensed RN or LVN for a Charge Nurse role on the 2pm–10pm shift. This full-time position emphasizes quality nursing care, teamwork with the interdisciplinary team, and adherence to standards of practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
• Unencumbered LVN or RN license or Compact State License.
• Proof of current CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience as an LVN or RN in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow established standards of nursing practices and implement community programs, policies and procedures.
• Obtain report from nurse being relieved and provide report to nurse coming on duty; record sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action as necessary.
• Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to supervisor and initiating corrective action
• Follow staffing guidelines and make nursing assignments according to qualifications of staff and characteristics of the resident population.
• Comply with community processes related to pain assessment/management/ documentation, providing treatments and delivering medications
• Administer and document direct resident care, medications and treatments per physicians’ orders and accurately record all care provided
• Provide instruction for appropriate nursing care to licensed nurses and Nursing Assistants
