Job summary

Amazon seeks an experienced Senior Regional Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to partner with regional operations, implement WHS policies, and ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations. Lead lean initiatives to reduce ergonomic risks and health hazards across designated sites, while building a capable team of safety professionals.

Expect travel and close collaboration with operations leadership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, service operations, or relevant experience applicable to the role
• 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
• Ability to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities

• Act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy.
• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies.
• Measure the regions and sites’ performance against published requirements in WHS policies; identify a plan to fix deficiencies.
• Ensure WHS recordkeeping and data integrity and provide Operations with accurate reporting and metrics.
• Deliver on-time and quality projects to Operations.
• Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify resource allocation to high-risk areas.
• Audit WHS practices and Global Database entries for compliance with standards.
• Manage and mentor FC WHS Manager and WHS Associates.
• Spend time at fulfillment centers to solicit input on program improvements and ensure progress status is communicated.
