Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Wastewater Operations Technician to cover vacations and absences across our water treatment facilities. The role includes training local technicians, supporting start‑ups, and ensuring compliant operation, laboratory testing, and maintenance practices.

Significant travel (1–2 weeks up to a month) is required. You will operate pumps and valves, collect samples, record data, and help develop SOPs while coordinating with management to meet performance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on problem solving.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn wastewater treatment processes and safety rules.
• Operational experience with site equipment and traveling work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia facilities during vacations and absences, covering day and night shifts with flexible scheduling.
• Develop and deliver hands‑on training for local technicians and prepare electronic training materials.
• Ensure compliance with lab testing procedures, record‑keeping, preventative maintenance, and operational practices.
• Support start‑ups and coordinate with management to train newly hired technicians.
• Troubleshoot process issues, provide proactive decisions, and optimize operations and chemistry.
• Operate pumps, motors, and valves; collect and test wastewater samples; record data accurately.
