Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a District Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple sites within an assigned region. You will guide frontline and management teams, optimize daily operations, and drive safety, service, and financial performance.

This role interfaces with corporate leadership, manages budgets and staffing, and fosters community relations while ensuring compliance with safety standards and company objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-site operations in waste/transport
• Knowledge of safety regulations (DOT/OSHA) and compliance
• Proven budget, P&L, and performance management skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee district performance across lines of business and locations
• Lead and develop managers; ensure execution of company standards
• Manage district budgets, forecasting, and capital planning, and oversee P&L
• Drive district growth including organic growth and M&A opportunities
• Support talent management—hiring, training, and promoting leadership
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align regional and corporate objectives
• Partner with communities and officials to maintain positive relationships and service agreements
• Promote safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the district
• Communicate effectively between operations, sales, maintenance, and support
• Travel between offices as required and work flexible hours
