The RVP, Public Sector will provide leadership and guidance to a dynamic sales team focused on the overall Public sector (Federal, State, and Local Governments, and Higher Education).

This is a critical role supporting public sector business to grow sales pipeline and engage with our customers to secure revenue. Provide industry perspective, strategic solution advice and thought leadership to support sales cycles and customer co-innovation programs, drive pipeline growth and quality through demand generation strategies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Driving Sales Strategy – Deep understanding of decision-making processes. Analyze potential and craft sales play, combining go-to-market strategies with industry perspective to develop and execute programs that generate pipeline. Work closely with industry and regional marketing management to ensure alignment of marketing efforts with big bet areas in the industry.
  2. Providing Account Leadership – Create and maintain actionable account plans to identify new opportunities. Lead account relationships, persona profiling, and sales cycles.
  3. Providing Thought Leadership – Craft thought leadership pieces to illustrate important industry and cross-industry topics. Develop content to convey industry solutions, including new innovations, in collaboration with regional teams.
  4. Building Relationships – Gain a deep understanding of the customer’s processes and challenges. Ask the right questions and bring unique value to every interaction.
  5. Articulating Value – Connect prospects’ business objectives with Alteryx solutions. Use a customer-centric approach to demonstrate how Alteryx can meet their needs.
  6. Closing Opportunities – Manage interactions within the customer buying cycle using standard processes. Handle various sales scenarios and negotiate to close deals.
  7. Effective Account Coordination – Use a disciplined approach to involve pre-sales and post-sales support efficiently.
  8. Demonstrating Alteryx Proficiency – Maintain a working knowledge of all Alteryx products and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of quota-carrying sales experience in the public sector (as a practitioner or operational consultant)
  • 4+ years of experience managing sales leaders
  • Proven ability to motivate team members
  • Previous experience in business development or management consulting
  • Strong knowledge of the data-analytics industry and how technology addresses challenges and opportunities
  • Ability to build and foster relationships at all levels
  • Excellent time and people management skills
  • Proven executive presence as a speaker, presenter, and in 1:1 interactions
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
