We are seeking a Regional VP/Wealth Management Consultant to drive new client acquisition and expand referral partnerships across an assigned territory for a privately held, multi-billion-dollar independent RIA.
This is a business development-focused wealth management role responsible for building strong referral relationships, engaging qualified high-net-worth prospects, and guiding prospective clients through the full sales process. Working closely with regional Advisors, this individual will identify client needs, present comprehensive wealth management solutions, and connect each prospect with the right advisory expertise for a seamless transition into a long-term client relationship.
The ideal candidate is an experienced financial professional who combines strong wealth management knowledge with the ability to build trust, communicate complex strategies, and close new business.
This role offers significant autonomy within the territory while being supported by dedicated advisory, planning, marketing, sales, and client service resources.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external referral partners throughout the assigned region, developing trusted relationships that generate a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Engage qualified high-net-worth prospects to understand their financial circumstances, priorities, and long-term goals.
- Communicate the firm’s value proposition, capabilities, and ideal client profile to prospective clients and referral partners.
- Present comprehensive wealth management solutions incorporating financial planning, investment management, tax, and estate planning considerations.
- Manage prospective clients through the full sales cycle, from initial engagement and discovery through proposal, close, and onboarding.
- Partner closely with regional Advisors to understand their expertise and growth objectives and match prospective clients with the appropriate advisory team.
- Facilitate a smooth transition from prospect to client while maintaining a high-quality experience throughout the onboarding process.
- Maintain consistent sales activity across phone, virtual, and in-person meetings throughout the territory.
- Represent the firm at regional events, meetings, and referral-partner opportunities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the firm’s wealth management services, investment solutions, and planning capabilities.
- Manage pipeline activity and relationships through Salesforce or similar CRM technology.
- Contribute to continued market expansion and achievement of regional growth goals.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and firm policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of client-facing sales, wealth management, financial planning, or related financial services experience.
- 3+ years of demonstrated success developing and closing new business, ideally with high-net-worth clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Planning, or a related field preferred.
- CFP, ChFC, PFS, CFA, CIC, or similar professional designation preferred.
- Series 65 or appropriate combination of Series 7 and Series 63/66 required.
- Life insurance license required or willingness to obtain.
- Strong knowledge of comprehensive financial planning and investment management.
- Exceptional relationship management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate sophisticated planning, investment, tax, and estate concepts clearly and confidently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to independently manage a high-activity territory.
- Comfortable using financial planning and CRM technology; experience with Salesforce, MoneyGuidePro, Tamarac, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Self-motivated, responsive, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a remote, territory-based role.
- Must maintain a clean U4 and strong registration history.
