Qualifications

  • PE license required for engineering leadership and project oversight.
  • Strong background in traffic modeling, simulation, and data analytics.
  • Experience implementing training programs and leading teams.
  • Proficient in traffic software (VISSIM, Synchro, TransModeler) and GIS.
  • Ability to review models, prepare reports, and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Develop modeling guidelines and standards for Region 1 projects and studies.
  • Lead traffic modeling training programs and workshops.
  • Develop and implement modeling software training for staff.
  • Review consultant models and reports, providing feedback and analysis.
  • Conduct operational analyses to support planning, safety, and design.
  • Evaluate project alternatives using approved tools (VISSIM, HCS, etc.).
  • Develop data support tools, dashboards, and automation for decisions.
  • Calibrate corridors and network models; integrate big data and GIS.
  • Represent CDOT with the public, agencies, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with HQ, MPOs, FHWA; participate in consultant selections.
