Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist (NS) to support the Newborn Hearing Screening Program and pediatric communication services, birth to 21 years. Qualifications

• Licensed by the Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• Experience with newborn hearing screening and early intervention preferred.
• Ability to provide training and technical assistance to facilities and providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and support to hospital staff on the Newborn Hearing Program.
• Coordinate tracking of infants through screening, re-screen, and diagnosis.
• Collaborate with birthing facilities, public and private providers, local health departments and hospitals.
• Maintain current knowledge on best practices for pediatric speech-language services.
• Prepare and submit data reports for CDC and HRSA grants.
