Job summary

Cengage is seeking an experienced leader to head a team of Solutions Specialists focused on new business in higher education. You will coach, mentor, and drive performance while aligning with campus stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.

You will collaborate with product, marketing, and customer success teams to optimize demos, solutions, and messaging, and will travel to campuses as needed to foster relationships and grow pipeline.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of sales/EdTech and new business experience.
• 1–3+ years of team leadership or mentoring.
• Strong coaching in discovery, value-based selling, demos, and closing.
• Proficient with CRM tools and territory planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of ~10 Solutions Specialists for full cycle new business.
• Drive regular coaching, 1:1s, and field engagements to improve discovery and closing.
• Build a culture of performance, accountability, and collaboration.
• Partner with Account Directors for alignment and visibility across campuses.
• Ensure high-quality pipeline, forecasting, and KPI monitoring.
