Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a Regional Solar Site Manager & Energy Storage III for Wagon Trail Energy Center. You will oversee daily operation, safety, and performance of solar and storage assets, driving reliability and profitability within the maintenance framework.

The role requires leadership across field services, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with NextEra stakeholders to implement improvements and cost controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 6+ years of related experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on field services operations leadership, preferably in utility-scale solar.
  • Proven ability to work across a complex organization and communicate effectively with all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to PGD operational model processes.
  • Lead by example and uphold PGD values.
  • Ensure activities comply with permits, codes, standards and regulations.
  • Monitor budgets and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and tooling.
  • Prepare reports and operate using computer-based systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Specific Description


In the role of Regional Solar Site Manager & Energy Storage III at Wagon Trail Energy Center, you will assume responsibility for all operational facets on the maintenance and repair of the solar plant. Your chief priority will be ensuring the team's safety while concurrently focusing on maximizing performance and profitability per the operational framework. This will necessitate devising and executing strategies to elevate maintenance practices, diagnostic capabilities, and overall operational efficiency, resulting in heightened customer satisfaction and reduced service expenditures.


Additionally, your duties may encompass:



  • Enforcing the implementation of Operational Safety Policy Instructions, ensuring field work aligns with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations, promoting sound employee safety practices, and fostering a culture of unparalleled employee safety.

  • Actively engaging in and leading Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects.

  • Recruiting, nurturing, retaining, guiding, and advancing resources at sites to uphold professional standards and foster team development within a matrix environment.

  • Assuming accountability for all aspects of timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and inverter availability.

  • Collaborating closely with internal NextEra stakeholders to devise and execute operation-focused feedback and solutions for both planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development initiatives, and financial performance.

  • Serving as a positive and professional representative of NextEra Energy within the community and in interactions with customers.

  • Overseeing the performance of solar field operations within the designated contractual scope of responsibilities for external customers and stakeholders.


The ideal candidates will embody the following attributes:



  • Possesses either a bachelor's degree in business or engineering or has accumulated six years of equivalent experience in a related field.

  • Demonstrated adaptability to different geographic locations for potential future roles

  • At least five years of hands-on experience in leading field services operations, preferably within utility-scale solar operations.

  • Proficiency in collaborating effectively within a complex organizational structure and across all levels of the Company

  • Strong executive presentation skills Certification as a Six Sigma green belt or a comparable quality assurance qualification

  • Proficient in network infrastructure, communication protocols, and web technology

  • Established track record of managing profit and loss responsibilities

  • Exceptional analytical capabilities and a track record of thriving in cross-functional and team-oriented environments


Job Overview

Leaders in this job are responsible for the daily management and leadership of a solar and storage generation facility. Individuals are responsible for the overall safe and reliable operation of the solar and storage site.


Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Ensures compliance to all Power Generation Division (PGD) operational model processes

  • Leads by example and emulates the PGD shared values

  • Ensures all business activities are conducted following corporate policies and are in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal permits, codes, standards, and regulations

  • Monitors, controls, and forecasts plant budgets and ensures compliance with all contractual obligations

  • Maintains all company-supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling

  • Performs other collateral duties in support of the Power Generation Division (PGD) portfolio

  • Completes reports and paperwork and uses computer based applications

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Required Qualifications


  • High School Grad / GED

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience: 2+ years

  • Leadership Experience: 0+ years

  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
