Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a BESS/Solar Field Technician II (Intermediate) in Guymon, OK to support Battery Energy Storage Systems within the Renewable Operations & Integrations team. You will conduct routine inspections, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot system issues, coordinate with operations and construction teams, and generate inspection reports.

Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED is required.
• 1+ years of experience.
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL).
• Trade School Graduate preferred.
• Licensed Electrician preferred.
• Licensed Master Electrician preferred.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to identify and address maintenance or performance issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including cleaning panels, replacing faulty components, and performing tests to ensure optimal system performance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures, utilizing technical knowledge and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with the operations team to implement and execute maintenance plans and procedures.
• Coordinate closely with the construction team during the installation and commissioning of new projects.
• Generate reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment conditions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all work activities.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in BESS technology and maintenance techniques.

Position Specific Description

The Battery Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the operations and maintenance of NextEra Energy's Battery Energy Storage Systems.As a member of the Renewable Operations & Integrations (ROI) team, the technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of clean energy systems.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to identify and address any maintenance or performance issues.


• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including cleaning panels, replacing faulty components, and performing tests to ensure optimal system performance.


• Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures, utilizing technical knowledge and monitoring tools.


• Collaborate with the operations team to implement and execute maintenance plans and procedures.


• Coordinate closely with the construction team during the installation and commissioning of new projects.

The Site Technician will support the Regional Manager or designee to ensure the perfect execution of the PGD processes. Site Technicians in a solar region perform duties in the following but are not limited to safety, contractor management, electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, overall site operations, asset management and regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management.
