Job summary

NASW-Illinois is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the Director of Marketing and Communications. You will manage daily social media, create content for channels, and coordinate member-submitted stories across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri.

You will assist with member emails, newsletters, and website updates, ensuring a consistent voice and branding across three states. This role is remote with residency in one of the three chapters; travel may be required for events.

Qualifications

• Degree in communications/marketing/journalism/public relations or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of experience managing social media or content creation for an organization, nonprofit experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of social media scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with basic graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Express).
• Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
• Comfort with website content management systems (CMS).
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading with consistent voice.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines across three states and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day social media across platforms, including scheduling and engagement monitoring.
• Create and coordinate content for social media, email, and web.
• Coordinate gathering and organization of member-submitted content.
• Assist with drafting and distributing member emails and e-newsletters.
• Support broader communications projects across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri.
• Maintain content calendar and ensure consistent tone across channels.
