Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Regional Facilities/Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance, life safety, and regulatory compliance across multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities in Texas. The role reports to the VP of Plant Operations and requires 24/7 on-call availability and extensive travel between sites.

You will manage electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety systems, coordinate vendor and capital projects, and support emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

• Must be available for 24/7 on-call support.
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare maintenance leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare facility operations, Life Safety Code, CMS requirements, OSHA and NFPA standards, and survey readiness.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects, budgets, vendors, teams, and work order systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and customer‑service skills.
• HVAC skills preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Experience with emergency preparedness management.
• Craftsmanship capabilities preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to travel extensively with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and technical support to the Vice President and Director of Plant Operations across SNFs.
• Oversee maintenance operations, building systems, and life safety compliance across multiple SNFs.
• Ensure all buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Support emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response efforts.
• Coordinate vendor management, contractor oversight, and capital improvement projects.
• Assist with construction, renovation, and mechanical system upgrades.
• Conduct facility inspections, identify deficiencies, and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and ensure adherence to departmental standards.
• Provide guidance and technical support to Maintenance Directors and facility leadership.
• Interpret and apply NFPA, CMS, OSHA, and state licensure regulations.
• Maintain documentation related to maintenance, life safety, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service.
