Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent II to lead on-site construction activities across multiple projects in a dynamic environment. You will coordinate with engineers, project managers, and craft labor to keep work on schedule and within budget.

You will also mentor field teams, review plans for constructability, and uphold Mortenson's safety and quality standards while navigating union and open-shop environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management.
• Minimum 12 years construction management or related experience.
• Active listening and effective communication; open to diverse input.

Responsibilities

• Overall management of construction activities and task assignments.
• Interface with departments to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the schedule.
• Coordinate budgets, forecast labor, equipment, and materials with Project Manager(s).
• Review documents for completeness and constructability.
• Develop and update project schedules and three-week look ahead.
• Coordinate with engineers and identify discrepancies.
• Lead site utilization planning and crew sizing.
• Oversee formwork systems and equipment selection.
• Conduct pre-construction planning and site meetings.
• Coach and mentor field personnel and superintendents.
• Ensure resources and support for crews; establish teamwork.
• Participate in hiring, performance management, and dismissals.
