Job summary

Fire-Dex, Inc. is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive growth and profitability for new and existing accounts. The role is home-office based with extensive travel across the territory, including events and visits to headquarters.

You will manage a regional sales plan, engage fire departments and distributors, and lead distributor training and presentations. The ideal candidate has strong territory management experience, end-user selling skills, and a background in fire/public safety sales.

Qualifications

• Regional sales manager with growth focus in PPE/fire service
• Sales territory management experience required
• Sales in multi-step distribution and end-user selling experience required
• Experience in fire industry strongly preferred
• Public safety or government sales experience preferred
• Account management experience required
• Home-office based role with significant travel
• CRM and ERP system experience advantageous
• MS Office alignment, esp. PowerPoint and Excel

Responsibilities

• Build and manage regional relationships with fire departments and distributors
• Develop and present sales presentations and demonstrations
• Serve as business advisor to distributors and management
• Train distributor sales reps in-field and classroom
• Coordinate sales activities with dealers and customers
• Travel 110–130 days per year with 90–100 overnights
• Manage sales territory and end-user selling strategy
• Support data gathering and competitive analysis
• Leverage CRM (Salesforce) and ERP tools to track info

Fire-Dex is a global manufacturer of PPE for first responders and an Independent Service Provider (ISP) of PPE care and maintenance under our Gear Wash brand. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Medina, Ohio, we pride ourselves on being a family business whose mission is “to serve those who serve”. Our dedicated team of associates have helped paved the path of innovation for new products and services that are focused on the health and safety of first responders by offering turnout gear, alternative PPE, boots, hoods, gloves, and helmets. We’re currently seeking a qualified Regional Sales Manager responsible for the growth and profitability of new and existing accounts. The candidate will be based out of their own home office and have the ability to travel throughout the territory, for events and headquarter visits.

• Relationship building and management
• Developing and presenting sales presentations and demonstrations to regional fire departments and distributors
• Serving as the role of business advisor and distributor executive management
• Conducting classroom and “in-field” training of distributor sales representatives
• Coordinating and supporting sales activities with dealers
• Occasionally hosting dealer and/or customer visits to our corporate office and factory (in Medina OH, in between Cleveland and Akron)
• Gathering, recording and updating competitive data and sales strategies
• Traveling: 110-130 days per year, with 90-100 overnights
• Sales territory management experience required
• Sales experience in multiple-step distribution management, along with end-user selling skills required
• Experience within the fire industry very strongly preferred
• Public safety or government business/sales experience also preferred
• Account management experience
• Ability to work from a home office and must live in the territory (relocation not included)
• Possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Strong Microsoft Office experience, especially PowerPoint and Excel
• Ability to remain organized with and keep track of multiple sources of information and data through experience with the following systems: CRM (Salesforce experience preferred) and ERP
• Self-motivated and action-oriented, with high energy and dedication to strong customer service and sales growth

Salary includes base, commission, quarterly and yearly bonus potential
