We are looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager to join our Americas team. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales revenue, growth and market penetration within an assigned territory. The position will involve travel and customer contact with decision makers at their institutions as well as attendance at conferences and trade shows.
The ideal candidate will be based in Northeast America and can work remotely.
Role Summary
Key job accountabilities:
Revenue growth
A relationship-based sales approach to customers in the assigned region
Frequent contact with customers virtually and in-person. Present to existing and prospective customers concerning both existing business and new business opportunities
Frequent attendance at relevant conferences and trade shows in territory
Develop sales strategies
Understanding of the evolving Open Access landscape and Transformative Agreements
Develop clear and effective proposals for current and prospective customers
Plan and organize sales strategies to generate new business
Collection, maintenance and analysis of marketing intelligence on customers
Keeps abreast of competitors, market conditions, advertising and promotional trends
Maintain customer information in CRM
Maintain and update customer data in CRM - Salesforce
Management reporting on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services
Develop and manage excellent relationships with all internal departments
Coordinate sales effort with; Marketing, Sales Operations, Customer Service and Finance
Support Legal department to make sure contracts are completed in a timely manner
About you:
Field sales experience, ideally within the publishing industry
Experience of working to sales targets
Effective presentation and negotiation skills
Technical knowledge of products, electronic publishing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel extensively
