Job summary

Olympic Steel, Inc. is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to increase revenue in targeted accounts with a focus on flat rolled products, plate, and fabrication sales. The role requires building and managing key customer relationships, servicing existing accounts, and establishing new ones across PA, OH, MI, IN, IL, and WI.

Travel is estimated at 50%. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years in flat roll steel sales, strong presentation and negotiation skills, and proficiency in MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 5+ years in flat roll steel sales.
• Excellent presentation, negotiation, closing, and account management skills.
• Willing to travel 50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and manage existing accounts.
• Establish new accounts by calling on prospects and planning daily routes.
• Lead territory planning, reports, and performance reviews for the region.
• Provide territory intelligence to support inside sales.

Job Description:

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for increasing revenue in targeted accounts with a specific focus on flat rolled products, discrete plate and fabrication sales. This position must achieve or exceed the assigned quota on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. TheRegional Sales Manageris responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key customers; service and manage existing customers; and establish new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on existing customers and/or new sales prospects. TheRegional SalesManagerwill effectively build consensus, gain appropriate commitments and close business. They will provide territory intelligence, and serve as a key resource to the inside sales team. The position will perform sales management duties (i.e. territory planning reports, month in review reports, field sales daily call reports, expense reports, etc.). TheRegional SalesManagermust maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in industry related associations and events. In addition, they may perform other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned as the job requirements dictate.

This position covers the following region: PA, OH, MI, IN, IL and WI and will have direct reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or 5+ years of flat roll steel sales
• Skilled in conducting face-to-face presentations, negotiating, closing sales, and account management
• MS Office 2010 proficiency (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Must be highly motivated and possess a personal commitment to the success of the organization
• Travel 50%
