Job summary

Makino is seeking a Regional Sales Manager for Northern California and the Pacific Northwest with a remote/field-based arrangement and frequent travel. You will lead distributor partnerships, develop regional sales plans, and drive revenue growth across the machine tool portfolio.

The role requires strong communication, distributor leadership, and a track record in metal-cutting manufacturing environments. You will train partners, forecast pipelines, and collaborate with marketing and product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
• 8-10 years of metal cutting experience with machining centers.
• Experience working with distributors or indirect sales channels preferred.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage distributor operations to maximize market coverage and sales performance
• Develop and execute regional sales plans aligned with company objectives
• Monitor distributor effectiveness and implement improvement strategies, including training and performance coaching
• Serve as the primary liaison between Makino and distributor partners to drive alignment on sales strategy and execution
• Drive new business development and increase market share across key manufacturing segments
• Support distributors with customer visits, technical discussions, and solution-based selling
• Coordinate with marketing, product management, and applications teams to execute targeted sales initiatives
• Maintain accurate sales forecasting, pipeline tracking, and regional reporting
• Monitor competitive activity and market trends within the territory
• Lead and support training efforts to enhance distributor product knowledge and sales effectiveness
