Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a Safety Trainer in the Fort Myers area to lead initial and ongoing safety and driving training across the region. You will certify mentors, partner with regional safety leadership, and promote a strong safety culture that aligns with federal, state, and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• CDL class A or B CDL is required.
• Clean driving record is required.
• 5 years of Waste Industry Driving preferred.
• 5 years of safety experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides initial (Day One) safety training to all new employees.
• Provides initial safe driving training to new employees with CDLs and DOT regulations.
• Trains and certifies Mentors in the region.
• Partners with region safety manager to review training effectiveness.
• Trains and Smith System certifies region supervisors and OM's.
• Reviews remedial training for high risk employees with the region safety manager.
• Provides ongoing training and feedback to supervisors to improve observations.
• Reviews 3rd Eye video to identify training opportunities.
• Promotes continuous improvement and standardization of safety programs and tools.
• Provides professional driving expertise and guidance to safety and operations teams.
• Acts as liaison between drivers and management to ensure open communication.
