Job summary

Ecowaste Solutions in Louisiana seeks a Regional Safety Trainer to develop and deliver safety programs for CDL drivers, laborers, and mechanics across the region, using a hybrid of video and in-person instruction.

You will travel up to 80% regionally, conduct new-hire orientations, ensure regulatory compliance, track records, and collaborate with site leaders to foster a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of safety training experience in a DOT-regulated environment
• Smith System Training Certification is preferred
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time
• Experience training CDL drivers required
• Solid knowledge of DOT/FMCSA/OSHA standards
• Experience training field-based workforce including drivers/laborers/technicians
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and LMS
• CDL preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver safety training for CDL drivers, laborers, and mechanics across the region
• Lead in-person trainings at multiple sites with regional travel
• Manage video-based training as part of the hybrid model
• Ensure programs comply with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and safety standards
• Conduct new hire safety orientations before field work
• Perform site visits and ride-alongs to identify training gaps
• Investigate incidents and update training content accordingly
• Track training records, certifications, and completion reports regionwide
• Partner with site managers to promote a strong safety culture
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and keep materials compliant
• Report training completion and safety metrics regularly
• Perform other duties as assigned
