Zusammenfassung

Knife River - South is seeking a Regional Health & Safety Director to develop and oversee comprehensive safety strategies across designated regions, collaborate with stakeholders, and promote a culture of safety excellence. This role focuses on guidance, coaching, and risk reduction through continuous improvement and strong leadership.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, occupational health, engineering, construction, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Progressive safety leadership experience in mining, construction, heavy civil, or manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, DOT, BATFE, and FRA.
• Experience developing or implementing safety management systems and risk-reduction processes.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Aufgaben

• Partner with operational leadership to align safety principles and systems.
• Lead, mentor, and coach safety professionals within the region.
• Oversee the Safety Management System and ensure its effectiveness.
• Serve as subject matter expert for health and safety and regulatory issues.
• Assist with due diligence for acquisitions by reviewing past performance and systems.
• Coach safety team to support leadership development and succession planning.
• Conduct site audits and inspections regularly.
• Oversee workers' compensation, auto liability, and general liability claims.
• Support incident investigations and ensure timely completion.
• Liaise with inspectors and manage citations.
• Monitor regional safety statistics and use analytics to improve programs.
• Develop and oversee regional safety programs, policies, training, and risk assessments.
• Communicate with stakeholders about safety goals and challenges.
• Stay updated on agency rule making affecting operations.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR.
• Always work safely and prevent unsafe actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
