Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking an experienced safety leader to implement and manage safety policies across construction sites in the Gainesville area. The role involves leading safety personnel, training managers and workers, and ensuring compliance with OSHA rules and regulations.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or related field and 10–20 years of construction experience, including OSHA 30-hour training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience is required.
• 10-20 years of general construction experience.
• OSHA 30 hour training required.

Responsibilities

• Implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations.
• Monitor effectiveness of the safety management system and progress against standards.
• Lead and provide functional management for safety personnel.
• Plan and implement safety training for managers and employees.
• Inspect facilities to detect hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure prompt alerting and reporting of significant accidents and incidents.
• Compile and submit accident reports to regulatory agencies.
• Produce safety management reports on safety performance.
• Review reports to identify trends and prevent recurrence.
• Regularly meet with safety personnel to review management of the function.
