Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Regional Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across the Industrial Business Unit and oversee Safety Managers, Safety Engineers, and Project Safety Managers. This role emphasizes eliminating injuries, managing risk, and building strong relationships with executive leaders.

Willingness to travel is required. Weitz has a long history of building and is a full-service construction firm with offices nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in safety, industrial hygiene, construction, engineering or related field.
• OSHA 500, OSHA 510, CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, CIH certifications encouraged.
• 10+ years of experience as a safety manager, safety engineer, or safety professional.
• Experience managing a safety process or project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans for power generation projects.
• Ensure safety protocols align with regulations and company standards.
• Support regional/safety committees and incident investigations.
• Prepare high-quality safety performance reports for management.
• Attend high hazard preconstruction meetings and contribute to JSAs.
