Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Safety Manager for our Industrial team. The role provides site safety leadership across assigned projects, ensuring consistent application of safety standards and programs while supporting preconstruction planning.

Travel nationally is required; the first project assignment is located in Oklahoma. You will lead safety training, audits, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance, partnering with the Project Manager to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the creation of the project safety plan
• Track and trend project safety performance and recommend corrective/preventative measures
• Verify project team adherence to safety management processes
• Draft letters, issue safety violations, and meet with managers
• Facilitate project safety committees
• Lead safety preconstruction meetings and pre-task planning
• Conduct or facilitate project-wide safety training
• Support project teams with regulatory safety compliance
• Facilitate project safety inspections and verify corrective actions
• Ensure employees can stop work when unsafe
• Oversee incident investigations and reporting
• Assemble and maintain site safety documentation
• Perform industrial hygiene assessments
• Coordinate with the Project Manager on safety activities
• Participate in safety regulatory audits
