Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Area Manager to oversee all stores in the designated operation area, assuming full P&L responsibility and aligning with company goals. You will lead a team across multiple stores, drive sales growth, ensure effective inventory management, and develop staff while safeguarding assets.

The role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and a track record of delivering results in a retail setting; travel and adaptiveness are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Four+ years retail management experience with progressively more responsibility, managing multi-unit operations with P&L responsibility.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; big-box retail management and/or equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated results-oriented leadership and ability to achieve performance goals.
• Financial analysis skills to interpret operating statements and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead the activities of all stores within the assigned area of operation, including full profit and loss responsibility.
• Foster a culture aligned with company mission and values and ensure superior customer service.
• Drive area sales growth through quality orders and efficient flow processes.
• Utilize all tools effectively for inventory presentation and management.
• Recruit, develop, and educate employees; ensure loss prevention and expense control.
• Travel weekly in company-provided vehicle; manage store scheduling to maximize performance.
