Job summary

sweetgreen is seeking an Area Leader to develop a deep bench of managers and lead store operations across multiple locations. You will recruit top talent, drive performance using people, financial, and customer metrics, and exceed P&L objectives with a focus on top-line sales and productivity.

You will train and coach head coaches, foster cross-functional partnerships, and strengthen community connections while upholding sweetgreen’s policies and culinary standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant experience, 3+ years in multi-unit management.
• Experience balancing openings with existing operations and managing multiple projects.
• Strong communication and team engagement.
• Highly organized, adaptable to change.
• 2+ years front-of-house and back-of-house management.
• Ability to identify root causes and drive performance improvements.
• Experience with food safety, HAACP, wage & hour, immigration regulation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal succession planning and build a bench of managers.
• Recruitment of high-potential internal and external talent.
• Improve performance focusing on people, financial, and customer metrics.
• Meet/exceed annual P&L objectives with focus on top-line sales and productivity.
• Drive top-line sales via community marketing, product launches, and merchandising.
• Train and coach locations to deliver exceptional customer experiences and high quality culinary operations.
• Lead head coach development through goal setting and feedback.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships to support stores and remove barriers.
• Create a positive team environment and share best practices.
• Grow community connections through store programs.
