D.R. Horton, Inc. seeks an Associate Region Counsel to provide legal support across the region with a focus on land acquisition. The role involves drafting contracts, advising on regulatory issues, and coordinating with outside counsel to protect the company's interests.

The ideal candidate will have a J.D. and Arizona license, 5–10 years in real estate/development, and strong MS Office skills. Travel overnight as required; join a team that supports growth in the homebuilding sector.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and be licensed to practice in Arizona.
• Five to ten years of real estate/development experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email; ability to use DRH applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on land acquisition, development, and disposition; draft contracts and related documents; coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Review and revise homebuyer contract documents.
• Advise on RESPA, FHA/VA compliance and other regulatory issues.
• Negotiate and revise subcontractor contracts and disputes; review commercial lease documents.
• Coordinate outside counsel and ensure compliance with laws and regulations; travel as needed.
