Job summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services seeks a Regional Business Office Accountant to maintain, update, and balance ledgers, review vouchers and billings, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. You will prepare and analyze financial reports, reconcile discrepancies, and process payments through state systems, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Hybrid work is available, with a schedule of 4–5 days per week in office.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, with courses in business administration and accounting.
• Four years of technical accounting experience may satisfy the educational requirement.
• State employees may use proficiency tests and training programs in lieu of the stated requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Regional Business Office Accountant and balances ledgers.
• Reviews, analyzes, and reconciles complex financial documents for compliance.
• Prepares financial reports and reconciles payment discrepancies.
