The role sits in Baltimore, with telework eligibility, and drives plan reviews, policy coordination, and direct engagement with Baltimore City and surrounding counties’ municipalities and counties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 30 credit hours in Planning, Environmental Science, Architecture, Public Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Three years of experience in research and planning projects related to land, water, transportation, community, or natural resources development and analysis.
• Two years of experience managing and executing complex planning and community development projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Two years of experience making public presentations representing a department or organization.
• Proficiency with GIS, urban design, landscape architecture, or similar software visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Maryland Department of Planning's regional planning program for the Central Maryland region.
• Manage two regional planners and provide technical assistance to local governments on planning best practices.
• Lead plan reviews and coordinate policy and engage directly with municipalities and counties across Baltimore City and surrounding counties.
