Job summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Scarborough, ME to lead the pharmacy department and partner with store leadership. The role emphasizes professional operations, staffing, immunizations, and customer service, while ensuring adherence to policies and safety standards.

The pharmacist will manage duties and supervise staff, provide patient counseling, and maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Criminal background check and drug testing as required.
• Current license in good standing in the practicing state(s).
• Current and active immunizing pharmacist certification.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to pharmacy practices.
• Desire to be a motivated caring professional with strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, associates, other health care professionals, and the community at large.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and provide direction to associates.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality; authorization to fill Medicare and Medicaid prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Managers and other associates.
• Responsible for professional and business operations within the pharmacy department.
• Identify store level sales and marketing opportunities in conjunction with the Store Manager.
• Supervise the performance of duties and responsibilities of all pharmacy associates.
• Ensure adequate staffing and training of pharmacy personnel.
• Observe and adhere to all Company policies and the Pharmacy Standard Practice Manual.
• Perform immunizations according to Company standards and expectations.
• Maintain neat, well-groomed personal appearance to comply with policy.
• Maintain solid communication within the department and throughout the organization.
• Work within the Company's management planning guidelines to maintain productivity.
• Support Company safety standards and report needed equipment repairs or maintenance.
