Job summary

Job description

This position provides proactive operational oversight of surgical scheduling and perioperative resource utilization across all campuses.

The role analyzes surgical schedules, staffing allocation, block utilization, and operational workflows to identify opportunities that improve operating room efficiency, maximize OR capacity utilization, and support safe, timely patient care.

This role collaborates closely with surgical scheduling, anesthesia, nursing, and perioperative leadership to proactively resolve scheduling conflicts, improve throughput, and support strategic operational planning.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, nursing or related field
  • 3-5 years perioperative, surgical scheduling, or healthcare operations experience
Responsibilities
  • Analyze daily and future state staffing patterns to identify opportunities for improved resource allocation across campuses.
  • Review surgical schedules across campuses to identify capacity constraints, staffing mismatches, and scheduling conflicts.
  • Optimize case placement and block utilization to improve OR efficiency and throughput.
  • Identify opportunities to release or reallocate unused block time.
  • Monitor staffing availability across departments and campuses to support efficient resource deployment.
  • Identify cross‑training opportunities that improve staffing flexibility and operational resilience.
  • Conduct internal audits to identify equipment, privileges, documentation, or workflow issues affecting operations.
  • Support DNV and regulatory readiness through operational reviews and compliance monitoring.
  • Present operational findings, trends, and recommendations to perioperative leadership.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and special projects.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $21.25 per hour - $35.49 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
