Job summary

Breen & Sullivan Mechanical Services, Inc. is seeking a Regional Payroll Specialist to manage payroll across multiple operating companies in the Northeast.

You will own Paylocity processes, coordinate across entities, locations, and pay structures, and ensure timely, compliant payroll delivery. You will oversee timekeeping, tax compliance, benefits deductions, GL reconciliations, and reporting, partnering with HR and Operations to support compensation and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, supervisory/managerial.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Experience managing multi-state payroll and regional tax compliance.
• Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems (Paylocity, ADP, Workday).
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
• CPP designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for regional locations.
• Reconcile General Ledger entries for payroll postings.
• Review and approve payroll transactions and adjustments.
• Prepare payroll-related reports and analytics for management.
• Lead payroll system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
• Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls for efficiency and security.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations on compensation and reporting.
