Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a dedicated NF1 PN and HPP Patient Education Manager (PEM) to engage with local patient communities and educate families about disease state, treatment options, and support programs. The role emphasizes 1:1 meetings, in-person or virtual events, and collaboration with advocacy groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years business experience in the healthcare industry.
• Experience engaging with patients and caregivers with rare/chronic conditions.
• Empathy for others with proven ability to listen well, connect meaningfully, and present complex information in a clear and engaging manner during 1:1 meetings.
• High initiative, solid work ethic, and consistent accountability.
• Ability to adapt quickly and commitment to react positively to frequent change in a high-energy, fast paced environment.
• Excellent presentation skills to diverse stakeholders in varied settings that will include groups of 150+ people.
• Strong organizational capabilities that will facilitate strategic and efficient territory management over a large geography.
• Ability to travel 60-80% of time, including evenings and weekends. Potential territory to cover includes NC, SC, VA, TN.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• BA/BS degree required, advanced degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop regional patient engagement plan with advocacy and brand marketing in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, Patient Advocacy, Patient Services and others to execute local patient outreach compliantly.
• Educate patients, caregivers and families via 1:1 meetings about NF1 and HPP disease state, treatment, and available support programs.
• Conduct in-person or virtual educational events at scale on behalf of Alexion.
• Educate offices on the PEM role and OneSource via inservices live and virtual.
• Build a robust rare disease network of NF1 PN and HPP advocates through local advocacy events.
• Deliver data-driven performance objectives and report progress to leadership.
