Job summary

Harrah's Atlantic City is seeking a Chef Pastry Assistant Regional in a full-time, on-site role. You will support the Executive Pastry Chef Regional in the daily production of all items in the regional Pastry Shop. The environment is fast-paced, hot and demanding, with flex scheduling based on demands.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a culinary school preferred.
• Two to four years experience preferred.
• Must have excellent team leadership skills
• Must have excellent communication skills and pay attention to details.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise daily workload to keep pars and proper rotation.
• Confers with the Executive Pastry Chef Regional regarding freshness and quality of pastries.
• Suggest new desserts and ideas to the Executive Pastry Chef Regional.
• Ensure prep work in the pantries, especially fruits and vegetables.
• Monitor the quality of all incoming produce ordered by purchasing.
• Ensure cleanliness of the bakeshop, storeroom, freezer and walk-in refrigerator in line with health codes.
• Coordinate with Chefs to create efficient dishes.
• Adhere to hotel policies and requisition policies.
• Utilize by-products to create special dishes to conserve food costs.
• Assist with coaching, training and development of Pastry staff.
