Job summary

Vermont State Parks seeks an energetic, outgoing manager to lead the facilities management and infrastructure program for 17 parks in the Northeastern region. This role covers the Waterbury Area, Groton State Forest and the Northeast Kingdom, demanding strong collaboration in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will have facility management, contracting, and personnel supervision experience, with the ability to oversee five regional maintenance staff, plan upgrades,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher AND three (3) years or more of work experience in park maintenance, building or other structure construction and maintenance, trail construction and maintenance, or project coordination or supervision, INCLUDING three (3) years or more of supervisory experience.
• OR Two years of full-time college coursework or an associate's degree AND five (5) years or more of work experience of any combination in park maintenance, building or other structure construction and maintenance, trail construction and maintenance, or project coordination or supervision, INCLUDING three (3) years or more of supervisory experience.
• OR High school diploma or equivalent AND seven (7) years or more of experience of any combination in park maintenance, building or other structure construction and maintenance, trail construction and maintenance, or project coordination or supervision, INCLUDING three (3) years or more of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the facilities management and infrastructure program for 17 parks in the Northeastern region.
• Oversee contracting, scheduling, and supervision of maintenance and upgrades.
• Supervise five regional maintenance staff, coordinate emergency repairs, and ensure visitor safety.
