Job summary

Northeast Kingdom Human Services (NKHS) is seeking a Facilities Worker II to help maintain and improve NKHS facilities across multiple locations in Vermont. This hands-on role covers carpentry, repairs, housekeeping, and basic setup for meetings and events.

You will work independently to prioritize tasks, assess maintenance needs, operate hand and power tools, and coordinate with contractors for larger projects, ensuring safe, welcoming environments for staff, clients, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Perform general maintenance, repair, carpentry, painting, and construction projects at NKHS facilities.
• Assess building maintenance needs and complete repairs while identifying larger projects requiring specialized contractors.
• Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of agency buildings, grounds, parking lots, and walkways.
• Assist with office furniture assembly, equipment installation, and facility setup for meetings and special events.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and groundskeeping equipment.
• Support environmental services functions as needed, including floor care, carpet cleaning, and general facility upkeep.
• Work independently to prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance requests across multiple agency locations.
