Job summary

Maryland Park Service is seeking a Program Manager III to serve as the Mid-West Regional Manager. The role requires leadership of park operations, visitor services, budgets, and personnel across Western Maryland’s state parks. Travel across the region and state is required to ensure safe, quality resources and interpretive programs.

You will collaborate with local governments, community groups, and allied agencies to safeguard visitors and park resources while driving strategic improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in forestry, forest management, natural resources management, parks and recreation, history, business administration, or related natural science.

Responsibilities

• Oversee visitor services management across multiple state parks in the Western Region and state-wide support.
• Develop strategies to address operational issues, maximize revenues and meet visitor expectations for quality recreation and interpretive services.
• Review and allocate MPS resources, supervise personnel, and coordinate with partner agencies and local governments.
