Job summary

Montgomery County PA is seeking a Park Supervisor to manage daily park operations and supervise staff, volunteers, and partners. The role collaborates with the Region Manager on budgets, scheduling, and program delivery to promote safe, enjoyable park experiences.

Required is a Bachelor’s degree in park or environmental management and 5 years in the field with supervisory experience; strong communication and public speaking skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years’ experience in Parks and Recreation or related field with at least one year of supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Park Management, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Resource Management or related field.
• Must understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, ethics and procedures relevant to this work.
• Must project a pleasant and professional presence when interacting with the public.
• Strong public speaking and communication skills are expected.
• Active participation in related professional organizations is encouraged.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the park in line with best practices and environmental stewardship.
• Assist Region Manager with site administration including budget, purchasing, scheduling, payroll and reports.
• Supervise grounds and building maintenance staff and volunteers.
• Coordinate with Region Manager on funding, grants, partnerships and donations.
• Plan and direct work schedules for projects and programs aligned with the park’s mission.
• Ensure safety and enjoyable park experiences; maintain and coordinate with other agencies.
