About Little & Junior TrackStars

Little & Junior TrackStars is a youth sports program dedicated to helping children ages 3–15 develop confidence, discipline, and foundational athletic skills through track and field. Our programs focus on fun, movement, mentorship, and character-building. We’re passionate about creating spaces where kids feel seen, supported, and strong—on and off the track.

Position Summary

As the Regional Operations Manager, you’ll lead our operations across the Washington, DC metro area, with a focus on the Laurel, Maryland region. In this hybrid, full-time role, you will manage day-to-day logistics, oversee staff and practices, coordinate community events, and occasionally step in to coach sessions.

We’re looking for someone highly motivated, mission-driven, and excited to lead in a fast-paced, youth-centered environment. This role is ideal for someone who wants purpose-driven work, professional growth, and a flexible work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Program Operations

- Recruit, hire, schedule, and manage regional staff and coaches

- Oversee the quality and consistency of weekly programming

- Coordinate class logistics, site setup, and session delivery

- Provide on-the-ground support and coaching up to 10 hours/week as needed

- Maintain excellent parent communication and issue resolution

Event Coordination

- Plan and execute regional sessions, pop-up camps, after-school classes and special events

- Secure venues, permits, supplies, and equipment

- Collaborate with volunteers, vendors, and community partners

Community Engagement

- Build and manage relationships with local schools and rec centers

- Represent Little & Junior TrackStars at events and outreach opportunities

- Identify new growth opportunities within your region

Budget & Performance

- Monitor program revenue and expenses

- Track attendance, satisfaction, and performance metrics

- Submit monthly reports and earn bonuses tied to program success

Qualifications

- Experience in youth programming, coaching, operations, or event management

- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams independently

- Tech-savvy and comfortable using tools like Google Suite, Excel, and scheduling platforms

- Available for on-site sessions, events, and weekend programming (as needed)

Preferred Qualifications

- Coaching experience, especially in track & field or youth sports

- Background in education, sports management, or nonprofit administration

- Connections to local schools, rec departments, or youth-serving organizations
