Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an Area Experience Leader to oversee a portfolio of 4–6 retail offices, ensuring a consistent, high-quality client experience.

You will set expectations for consultative service, operational execution, and business results, while being a visible hands-on leader across locations. You’ll coach Tax Professionals and Client Service Professionals, develop bench strength, manage staffing and day-to-day operations, and drive revenue and growth across offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years leading teams in multi-unit retail/service/operations with performance accountability.
• Strong client-centric mindset delivering consultative experience.
• Proven leadership to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable.
• Ability to drive business and financial results across multiple locations, incl. labor.
• Experience leading through change and new processes.
• Ability to prioritize across multiple locations with independent judgment.
• Experience managing facilities, staffing, or compliance.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; handle escalations.
• Ability to interpret data, identify trends, translate insights into action.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and travel frequently; long schedule including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Own consistent delivery of the consultative client experience across 4–6 assigned offices.
• Evaluate execution quality and client impact across locations, using insights to reinforce strengths and address gaps.
• Drive adoption of new client experience processes, tools, and behaviors while leading in-office.
• Lead Tax Professionals and Client Service Professionals by setting clear expectations and coaching.
• Provide coaching informed by behaviors, performance outcomes, and real-time feedback.
• Identify patterns across offices, address gaps, and develop bench strength and high-potential talent.
• Own revenue, growth, and operational performance across offices.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and improve business results and client acquisition.
• Ensure daily operations across offices including staffing, scheduling, and compliance.
• Own office and workforce readiness, including facilities and onboarding for seasonal demand.
