Job summary

Aperion Care Corporate in Illinois is seeking a Regional Nursing Consultant (RN) to lead and oversee nursing care across facilities in the Chicagoland area. You will ensure compliance with licensing standards, maintain resident rights, and support facility policy implementation while aligning with state regulations.

This role requires uncumbered Illinois RN license, strong leadership, and travel up to 75% across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred but not required.
• Five years management experience with experience in long-term care.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the state.
• General knowledge of professional basic nursing, restoratives and personal care services.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel to facilities within the region.
• Ensures facility compliance with organization policies and state regulations.
• Performs quarterly audits including resident charts, medication room and QA interventions.
• Participates in care conferences as needed.
• Performs comprehensive assessments on potential residents.
• Provides clinical training and support to staff.
• Reviews EMAR reports to ensure medication room compliance.
• Performs monthly supervisory visits to medication passers where allowed.
• Monitors wound care and use of supplies.
• Attends meetings and collaborates with care team.
• Reviews incident reports and follow-up notes.
• Assists in hiring, training, planning and directing staff.
• Addresses complaints and resolves problems as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

The Regional Nursing Consultant ** Long-term Care **maintains the care based on established nursing standards and resident rights while supporting and assisting the implementation of facility policy and state regulations in regards to nursing and healthcare. Verifies the presence, quality and accuracy of nursing documentation required by the facility policy and government regulations. Provides leadership, planning, coordinating, continuous monitoring and evaluation of the care given to residents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily Travel to Facilities within the Regoin
• Ensures that the facility is in compliance with the organization’s policy and procedures and complies with all state regulations.
• Understands and implements company policies and procedures.
• Performs quarterly audits including resident charts, medication room and QA interventions.
• Participates in care conferences as need or requested by facility.
• Performs comprehensive assessment on potential residents.
• Provides clinical training and support to all staff.
• Performs regular review of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) reports to ensure compliance in the medication room.
• Performs monthly supervisory visits to all medication passers as needed in states that allow for RN delegation.
• Regularly monitors wound care provided in the facilities to ensure appropriateness and effectiveness.
• Monitors the careful and efficient use of supplies, checks medical supplies and see that supplies have been ordered as appropriate.
• Attends meetings as required; works cooperatively with members of the management and care team, maintaining effective interdepartmental and interpersonal relations with residents, staff, and visitor’s.
• Reviews incident reports and follow up notes regularly to ensure state reportable incidents are being reported, proper procedure is being followed and documented.
• Assist in hiring, training, planning assigning and directing the work of facility staff as needed.
• Addresses complaints and resolves problems as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred but not required.
• Five years management experience with experience in long-term care.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the state.
• General knowledge of professional basic nursing, restoratives and personal care services.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, and correspondence.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation, and interaction with coworkers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Ability to travel within the assigned region, up to 75%.
