Job summary

Elderwood Administrative Services is seeking a Regional Nurse Consultant (RN) to oversee clinical operations and nursing leadership across a portfolio of skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities. This field-based role requires hands-on leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, and a collaborative partnership with Directors of Nursing and Administrators.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license in New York State.
• Experience as Director of Nursing or regional clinical leadership.
• Strong knowledge of SNF clinical operations and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to mentor nursing leaders and influence performance.
• Experience supporting survey readiness and quality improvement.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Western/Central NY and Adirondack regions.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical guidance and oversight to an assigned portfolio of skilled nursing facilities.
• Partner with Directors of Nursing and Administrators to evaluate clinical priorities and strengthen operations.
• Coach and mentor DONs/ADONs through clinical, regulatory and staff challenges.
• Support onboarding and development of new Directors of Nursing.
• Help facilities maintain survey readiness and respond to regulatory findings.
• Participate in clinical reviews, audits and facility assessments to identify risks and opportunities.
• Review quality indicators and outcomes with facility leadership.
• Develop and implement corrective-action and performance-improvement plans.
• Promote consistent clinical standards and documentation across facilities.
• Support staffing, resident safety, infection prevention and regulatory compliance.
• Provide added leadership during transitions or periods of elevated facility need.
• Facilitate communication between facility teams, regional operations and corporate leadership.
