Job summary

AVIR Vista seeks an experienced Regional Nurse Consultant to lead clinical teams across West Texas facilities. You will drive resident outcomes, mentor nursing leadership, and ensure CMS and Texas regulatory readiness through ongoing quality improvement.

The role requires an unrestricted Texas RN license, D.O.N. experience, and regular travel across the Houston area. Strong collaboration with regional ops and risk management is essential.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Texas RN license
• Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting required
• Regional or multi-facility experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of CMS and Texas long-term care regulations
• Proven experience with survey readiness, quality improvement, clinical systems, and team development
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the Houston area

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership, education, and support to facility Directors of Nursing and clinical teams
• Monitor clinical outcomes, quality measures, hospital transfers, staffing practices, and regulatory compliance
• Assist facilities with survey preparation, plans of correction, and ongoing compliance with CMS and Texas requirements
• Review high-risk clinical events and help implement effective corrective actions
• Conduct facility visits, audits, and follow-up reviews to ensure improvements are sustained
• Mentor nursing leadership and promote accountability, consistency, and strong clinical practices
• Collaborate with regional operations, risk management, and other company leaders
• Support facilities during surveys, leadership transitions, and other high-risk situations
