Job summary

Tomorrow RDS LLC seeks an Area MRF Manager to oversee Material Recovery Facilities across North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. This role emphasizes safe operations, regulatory compliance, and strong staff leadership.

You will manage multiple facilities, control costs, drive performance metrics, and develop operational strategies to improve profitability and diversion rates. Travel 60-70% is required within the region, with residency in the area preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; not required with equivalent experience.
• Five+ years of experience in recycling operations, waste management, or industrial facility management.
• Experience managing multiple facilities or large teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across multiple MRFs, including receiving, sorting, processing, and shipping of recyclable materials.
• Manage site operations (scale house, sorting lines, loading areas) to control handling and operating costs.
• Monitor production KPIs, including throughput, recovery rate, contamination level, and truck turnaround time.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to raise efficiency and material recovery.
• Ensure OSHA/EPA and company safety standards compliance; conduct regular inspections and meetings.
• Build a strong safety culture across all facilities; manage supervisors and frontline employees.
• Develop staff through mentorship and structured professional development.
• Coordinate maintenance activity to minimize downtime and ensure equipment performs to spec.
• Prepare and manage budgets, analyze financial performance, and support capital planning.
• Develop operational strategies to improve profitability, reduce costs, and increase diversion rates.
• Review and approve operational reports and compliance documentation.
